ABOUT ME

I am a literature teacher in the Atlanta area.  I have a B.A. in English, a M.Ed. in English Education, and an Ed.S. in English Education. I am well-versed in YA literature due to a reading program I’ve developed in my school that focuses on YA in the classroom. I am in the process of developing one for middle schools in my district.

I have taught grammar and writing at a local college for the past four years.

I have worked closely with Kennesaw State University’s Conference on Literature for Children and Young Adults and have presented multiple times.

I’m a member of SCBWI and have attended conferences in New York, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Indiana, and will be attending the conference in Nashville this September. I've hosted many young adult authors over the years, including Chris Crutcher, Simone Elkeles, Ned Vizzini, Matt de la Pena, and Laurie Halse Anderson.

In my spare time (when I'm not clicking computer keys) I like to get on the tennis court or ride my motorcycle.
